Something about Hippie Bread from Kneaded Gluten Free Bakeshop, submerged in O.N White Chocolate French toast batter, makes me a happy girl, a very happy girl…

I am back to food blogging for your perusal and what better whey (please excuse the food humor) to kick it off then with a lovely high protein French toast recipe.

Enjoy!

Simple, Sweet and Awesome French Toast a la Trenches: serves 1

2 egg whites

2 TBSP unsweetened almond milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

10-12 vanilla creme Sweet Leaf Stevia drops (Optional)

1 stevia packet

2 slices of Kneaded Gluten Free Bakeshop Hippie Bread (or bread of choice)

Whisk together the egg whites, almond milk, vanilla extract, and stevia. Let your bread soak in the mixture for 2-3 minutes per side so it gets nice and soggy! I use this bread for french toast instead of store bought gluten free bread because this kind soaks up the egg white mixture a lottttt and aint no body got time for chemicals. It gets fluffy when it cooks. The ‘other stuff’ is too dense. Spray a pan with nonstick spray and cook on a medium/low heat for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the egg whites are cooked and it’s slightly browned on each side.

I then topped mine with a vanilla protein drizzle (1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein, 3 TBSP unsweetened almond milk, and 7-8 stevia drops), Enjoy Life Dairy Free chocolate chips, peanut better, and syrup.

With love from the Trench Kitchen,

xoxoErika♥
