“I originally sought out help from Trench to help transform the way I approached nutrition and fitness for a personal goal.  Being overweight all throughout my twenties from leading an unhealthy lifestyle, I had finally had enough after I returned from a party heavy trip to Cuba feeling absolutely terrible in every way and at 185 lbs in early Jan ’12, a year before I contacted Trench.  28 at the time, I vowed that by the time I was 30 I would get myself into shape and get lean so I could have a foundation that I could build upon or maintain comfortably going forward and never look back.

Through the help of a great personal trainer, I was able to build a solid work ethic in the gym and learned what pushing myself really felt like.  I stuck with it hard for a few months, then would take a few months off, then hard for another month, then another vacation and a lapse in training.  Throughout it all I was able to shed between 10 – 15 lbs but was frustrated that I wasn’t seeing much of a reduction in belly fat or any visible abs, which was my measure for my goal of being “lean”.

After seeing a good friend have success through the Trench program and being recommended by a professional in the body building industry, I decided it was time to get serious and contacted Neil to help me get the rest of the way.  Since signing up I realized that although I knew nutrition and training both contributed to getting lean, I really had no idea what I was doing until I started tracking to the targets that Trench provided.  The training regimen was intense and contained a lot of new lifts that kept me excited to try and push my weights up each round through, it is a true full body program that challenged and strengthened me like I’ve never been.

trench-fitness-built-in-trench-challenge-1-paul-cThe fact that previously I had been running on a TRX machine quite frequently for half an hour each time at the gym with mediocre results compared to the results you see with very little tedious cardio shows that most people approach fat loss in the wrong way.  Lift heavy, eat healthy and run less, what a great plan!  Trench had the formula for my success, Neil motivated me and kept me honest all the way through, he let me know when I slipped and that I could do better and it helped.

The competition aspect worked well for me as I’m competitive but whether its first place or not, I have reached my personal goal, I’m leaner than I’ve ever been and I’ve never felt healthier overall.  I can’t wait to try a muscle building phase for my next body transformation and be able to find a happy balance with my physique that I can maintain for the rest of my life.  I can’t thank you enough for helping me reach my goals, I hope everyone else involved was able to take as much from the consulting as I did.  Best of luck to the other competitors, looking forward to the results!
