It has been a very long time since I have been happy with what I see looking back at me in the mirror.  It has been a long time since I have felt fit, energetic and healthy.  The Trench Fitness 12 Week Nutrition and Fitness Transformation Challenge changed all that for me.

I was always a very active person.  I played a lot of sports growing up, and played volleyball throughout high school and university. However, everything changed when I had my second ACL surgery in 2010.  I became much less active and my eating habits worsened.  My weight slowly crept up and before I knew it, I was close to 300 lbs.  I had an eye opening moment in early January 2019 when I stepped on the scale and I was over 300 pounds.  Seeing that number on the scale was the kick in the butt I needed to motivate me to make a change.

I had been with Trench Fitness on and off since 2014 and I had even done a few of Trench’s 12 week Nutrition and Fitness programs, so I knew about the Transformation Challenge. I decided it was time to take on the challenge.  So, with the support of my lovely wife, I signed myself up.

The first few weeks of the Transformation Challenge were definitely the hardest. My body was so sore for two weeks straight.  I also found it tough to consistently weigh every gram of food that I ate. Luckily for me, my wife had done a 12 week nutrition program and knew what I was going through.  She was a great source of support for me and helped me stay on track.

It was not long before I could start to see and feel the changes in my body.   Everyday tasks became easier.  I had much more energy.  I found that going to the gym became something I looked forward to, instead of something I had to do.  My friends and family were also starting to notice.  Hearing their compliments was a huge source of motivation for me.

As I look back over the past 12 weeks, I am very proud of what I have accomplished.  I far exceeded the goal I set for myself going in to this challenge.  I had a great support system. My family and friends were all very supportive, understanding and encouraging.  My relationship with food has become much healthier.  Now, going to the gym is a very positive part of my day,

Trench Fitness has given me the plan, tools, education and support to achieve my goals.  Scotty provided me with the knowledge, strategies and constant support I needed to put me on the path of health.  Scotty’s encouragement and support gave me what I needed to continue on the path of being a healthier person.  I have already signed up to do another 12 week program to push myself even further.  I can honestly say I am looking forward to this next challenge.

I would like to thank all of my family and friends for their continued support and especially thank my wife, Sarah, for being my constant source of support.  I want to thank the entire team at Trench Fitness for being so encouraging.  And a special thank you to Scotty for helping me through this challenge and keeping me on the right path to reach and exceed my goals.
