“I had to spend a long time trying to come to terms with why exactly I decided to take part in the challenge this year.  Leading up to the challenge the majority of the previous year had left me consumed with work.  As a result, some bad habits had crept into my routine some of which included an overall decrease in the consistency of my workouts and the quality of my nutrition.  This had affected me in several ways but physically I was noticeably tired more often and just lacked energy overall. Mentally dealing with stress was becoming more of a challenge and my focus just was not there.  What made things different than in the past is that I was able to identify these changes thanks to Neil  and the experience and information I had gained from working with Trench in the past.

When this year’s challenge announced, initially I had not really considered taking part in it.  However, after a bit of thought it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get myself back on track and address the bad habits I had allowed occur.  While the physical aspects that would accompany the challenge would be a definite bonus, I was really looking forward to all mental benefits that I would come from a structured plan and goal.

Within the first couple of weeks of working with Neil for the challenge, I was seeing the benefits of the structure and consistency the program from trench was able to provide.  As a result, in the last 12 weeks, my workouts were going great; my energy levels were up and despite the restrictions.  I was able to maintain and in some instances even progress strength wise on some of my lifts.  Outside the gym stress management greatly improved, my focus improved and was able to relax much easier.

There were definitely challenges during the past 12 weeks many of which were to be expected and some that were not.  Whether it was planning of birthdays, planning for extended stays out of town, substituting exercises due to injury or equipment and of course the all of the unforeseen issues and closures that the covid-19 has brought.  Despite these challenges, Trench provided the knowledge, tools and ability able to adapt in order to improve myself regardless of whatever obstacle came up.  As I look back on this challenge, I am happy with everything I was able to achieve and the improvements I have realized both physically and mentally.

To anyone looking to improve and invest in oneself I cannot recommend the Trench Fitness team enough.  They will provide you with the plan, tools and support to help you achieve your goals regardless of what stage you are currently at in your journey.”
