Neil Tkatchuk was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. It was during his first few years of post-secondary school that he began to develop a passion for health and fitness.

After beginning his University career in Business Administration, he made the switch to Kinesiology with a major in Fitness & Lifestyle. This switch was driven by an extreme interest towards working out and the changes and adaptations that were possible through diet and exercise.  This led Neil to compete in his first bodybuilding competition in 2006 and he has never looked back. Since his first competition in 2006, Neil has competed numerous times and has achieved professional status with a number of drug-free natural organizations including the WNBF, IFPA, and IDFA

Neil is also an avid raw powerlifter who has competed on the national platform and has achieved personal best lifts in the squat at 507lbs, bench press at 341lbs, and the deadlift at 557lbs.

In 2014, Neil left his firefighting career behind to pursue his love and passion for health and fitness further and to fully focus on helping others achieve their personal health and fitness goals through Trench Fitness. Together with his wife Erika and team at Trench Fitness he aims to continually apply his knowledge and experience to create a results based environment and community that helps and inspires others to make a healthier, and happier lifestyle change.
