Transformation isn’t a Future Event….it’s a Present Day Activity

YOU are transforming every day – with every single choice you make. Never discount the small choices you make. Every one of them adds up to big things.

You can actively create change  by setting short-term goals that are in line with your big picture.

I practice this often by giving myself a 3-day or 7-day short-term challenge or goal. If I can manage to stick to it, I acknowledge the effort, give myself a positive reward that is aligned with my current choices, and set a new challenge for myself.

For example, I love baking. I make a lot of my own healthy desserts, muffins and cupcakes to avoid suffering the weight gain and strain on my system from processed sugar or refined flour, but even regular use of natural sugar can be addictive. I had a few days of off plan eating post competition and the sugar bugs were summonsing me back into the noose of dysfunctional eating patterns.

So I like to set a 7-day challenge for myself when I’m feeling a little out of control to not eat any added sugar (and I keep my fruit servings to 2 a day).

My reward this week was a very fun and fancy brunch – because at brunch you can have all your favorite foods (when your favorite foods are all breakfast foods). Once brunch was over, I set a new challenge for myself and get back on track with my goals.

If you’re commited to a goal of a strong, fit, healthy body rememeber to take pride in the small changes you make on a daily basis and set small mile marker goals for yourself along the way. Whether you’re just starting out or working on your maintenance, we’re on this journey together.

Just like you, I look for daily inspiration and try to be my best. Transformation is an ongoing process – remember, everything you do matters and adds up.

I’m with you!

Pumpkin Waffles:

33g oats, ground into a flour

1/4 cup egg whites

1/2 scoop Cinnamon Graham Cracker Whey

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp almond extract

Combine ingredients. You may need to add a touch of water if the batter is too thick. Cook in waffle iron. I managed to get 2 large ones and 1 baby one out of this batter. Top with coconut butter, berries and lots of syrup. Enjoy!!
