“I contacted Trench Fitness because I heard so many great things about them through friends and family. I was heading to Australia and was interested in getting in better shape before I took off. I was only going to be able to do a 10 week program before I left due to short notice on my part. Neil explained that it should be enough time to see great results if I stayed dedicated.
Going to the gym is something I have made a routine over the past few years. One of the main reasons I contacted Trench was because of Neil’s great nutritional knowledge and tailored program. I never knew enough on this topic and was very interested in what Neil had to say.
For the first couple of weeks there was a bit of a learning curve. I was not used to being very accurate in my portion sizes. I just ate when I felt hungry. It was interesting to see how wrong I ate before, which I realized after a couple days into the program. In a couple weeks, weighing my food and being accurate with my macro allowances became streamlined. I was allowed to eat anything within my macro limit, but whole nutritional foods are obviously recommend. I will say that everyday before bed, I allowed myself a Kellogg’s Pop tart for a bit of a treat.
The work outs were four times a week with two cardio days. My job is very labour intensive, so it was tough some days to muster the energy to hit the gym, but I knew it would be worth it in the end. I truly wouldn’t have been able to do it without Neil’s constant positive and motivational energy.
I not only learned about what I am physically capable of but mentally as well. I am very very happy with my results and would highly recommend Neil. Not only is Neil a great coach but he also makes you stay positive on those hard days. He knows when you need some constructive criticism to stay on track and for me that’s what makes a good coach. I will definitely be going back to him in the future and cannot wait to keep the changes coming.”
