One Pot Chicken and Rice

One Pot Chicken and Rice

This is an ankle socks moment. Trust me, it’s not what you think. I am a child of the nineties so if you can remember back that far (woah) you might recall those long socks we used to wear all the time reaching anywhere from two to five inches above your shoes. I was...

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

A week or so ago Neil and I went to Banff with two of our very good friends, and in terms of packing I forgot pretty much everything. Cinnabon had emergency surgery earlier in the week which left me 80% brain dead - a.k.a. I forgot our underwear and non-perishables...

Super Corny Cornbread Muffins

Super Corny Cornbread Muffins

Would you believe that Neil has never had corn bread before? I think he tasted one little crumb at a restaurant once, but it was a crumb. And it was little. So when I decided to make chili for dinner the other night, I thought… what the heck. I’ll make corn bread too....

The Best Turkey Chili You’ll Ever Have

The Best Turkey Chili You’ll Ever Have

Yes I know it seems a bit of a stretch to state that this is in fact the best chili you’ll ever taste, but hey I guess I’m a little biased.  I’ve been known to post this recipe on my Instagram and have had numerous requests for it, so I suppose it’s about time I...

Banana Chocolate Chunk-kin Loaf

Banana Chocolate Chunk-kin Loaf

In my opinion, pumpkin goes well in almost anything. From pancakes, to waffles, to muffins and bread. You don’t have to want a pumpkin taste to add pumpkin. It adds a very subtle flavor while working wonders on the texture. It is how I keep my recipes from drying out...

Apple Crisp Cookies

Apple Crisp Cookies

They say "an apple a day keeps the doctor away", so hopefully these apple crisp cookies help remedy the 'man flu' pandemic that has broken into our home... Neil has been down and out with some horrific gut wrenching, energy zapping mysterious disease a.k.a. the man...

Cinnamon Bun Sweet Potato Cookies

Cinnamon Bun Sweet Potato Cookies

Today in the Trench kitchen, we had left over yams coming out the wazoo. Last week I had a pregnancy phase where all I wanted to eat was yams, this week I am not into them at all - which leaves us with 10lb cooked yams aging rapidly in the refrigerator - awesome... I...

I have been utilizing Trench for a couple years now doing both nutritional programs and personal training sessions with Neil. Neil has been great to train with and has taught me so much. He is always pushing me to get outside of my comfort zones and try a bit more. I definitely would not be where I am in my strength training without his help and support.

I selfishly want to give this place a bad review so that it doesn’t get any busier BUT I CAN’T. I have worked out at probably 5-7 different gyms in the city and this is by far the best atmosphere, space, equipment, and clientele. Neil and the rest of his team treat everybody with respect and support. I’d recommend this gym to any level of fitness!

Amazing facility and would recommend to anyone. The 24/7 access is great so you don’t need to base your day around the gym, you can always fit a workout in. The facility accommodates all workout styles and they’re people from all fitness levels. This gives the gym a really good community feel. Give Trench a look if you are looking for a new spot!
